FAQ

Questions? We got answers.

How does Favor source its colostrum? Is it grass-fed?

Favor sources its colostrum from family-owned dairy farms across the Midwest. Our cows have access to outdoor grazing, enjoying fresh air, sunlight, and a diet primarily consisting of nutrient-rich grass. During winter, they may also consume nourishing forages like dried grass, hay, or alfalfa, along with smaller quantities of supplemental non-GMO grains. While some companies label their colostrum as "grass-fed," it's important to note that not all of them are 100% grass-fed. We prioritize transparency and avoid making misleading claims to ensure clarity for our customers. Our products come from cows that prioritize grass as the main component of their diet, providing a high-quality source of colostrum. We are committed to delivering the best possible product for your well-being and maintaining honest communication with our customers.

Are Favor colostrum products rBST (rBGH), antibiotic, and hormone-free?

Yes, Favor colostrum is collected from cows that have not been treated with rBST (rBGH). Our colostrum powder is verified to be antibiotic-free. While all dairy products naturally contain trace amounts of hormones, our products do not contain artificial hormones.

Are your colostrum products certified organic?

No, our products are not sourced from only organic-certified dairies. Organic-certified colostrum is rare due to limited production. If someone claims their colostrum is "organic," it's important to inquire about their supplying herds' National Organic Program (NOP) certification.

Is bovine colostrum lactose-free?

Bovine colostrum contains a lower level of lactose compared to regular dairy products, but it's not entirely lactose-free. Most people tolerate it well, but if lactose is a concern for you, it's best to consult with your healthcare provider.

Are you denying the newborn calf of its colostrum?

No, we prioritize the well-being of the calves. They receive two to four liters of colostrum shortly after birth, and the mothers produce more than enough for their needs.

Has Favor colostrum been pasteurized? Is it safe?

Yes, our colostrum is pasteurized at low-temps to protect its bioactive ingredients. It meets all cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practice) requirements for safe human consumption.

Do you remove anything from your colostrum, such as fat or lactose?

No, we do not remove fat or lactose from our colostrum. Some products may remove fat or lactose to manipulate certain components, but we believe in preserving the natural composition of colostrum for its full benefits.
